One question comes to mind about this subject. Why do seemingly American  white men seem to always get tattoos of sentences,or words in Japanese? Am I missing something here? I am sure that some have reason but for the people that I know personally. They seem to have no answer. To me If I wanted to say something in my country I believe I will have it inked in English so people will know what it says. Does this make me out of line or what? [marines]

Hank:
Want to be careful not to offend you, 'cause you look like a real toughie in the photo, and those huge tats are an indication of your tolerance for pain, but, I wonder, who translated those characters for you?

I personaly recognize the last two as correct. I'd have to look up the "family" one though. Any tattoo shop worth it's weight in salt has a few kanji dictionaries around. Some make the mistake of trying to just add words together to make sentences though...biiiig mistake.

here's one from RAINMAN...

he wants some suggestions for stuff to go around it, i was thinking of a betsy ross flag...

Good idea actually. The flag would allow complementary colors be right next to that blue, so the images would not blend into each other. Keep the 13 star field away from those blue letters and all should be well with it.
