I am born in a family of soldiers where serving our country is as important as breathing. While scouting some albums today, I found those pics that I would like to share with arfcom members. This is Belgium at her best:

My grandfather at his return from Yser battlefront in 1918

The same man but in April 1940, some weeks before WWII hit our borders. This pic was shot in Eben-Emael facilities

At his return from German POW camp in 1945

But all were not lucky enough to come back home on their feet...but they were brought back home. Fallen for Belgium & Freedom

My father in 1951, at Leopoldsburg, ready for his departure to Germany with what was callled FBA (Forces Belges en Allemagne - Belgian Forces in Germany)

Still my father, but in 1952, in Germany. He was in a tank hunter/destroyer unit, 1st JP (Jager de Paard, 1st hunting cavalry), driving a Sherman tank nicknamed Attila
But don't ask me why he was near this halftrack, I have no clue:

And yours op in January 2011 in Afgh

nb: hands in pockets because of a mix of hydraulic oil burns/icy water/cold wind. Letting my hands to the air was very painful, it needed some weeks to heal.
