has anyone else heard of this? does the argument presented by the four "officers" seem reasonable?

Sounds to me like the guys just wanted some cheap machineguns to "play" with. If I were in a position to circumvent an unconstitutional law the way they did I would do the same thing.

Everybody should be able to buy $850 MP5s and $600 M16s.
