I have read on many occasions about people hiking or camping and taking a firearm. Well as of right now I don't have a Concealed carry license, but usually when I go hiking or camping I bring along some kind of firearm. I have never been stopped or even questioned and I run in to rangers all the time it seems. However could this be a problem sometime? Also what do you do if you go camping out of state? I probably need to read the NRA site more.

It makes a major difference WHERE you are camping, as well as other considerations, like, how you are carrying, and in some places, if it's hunting season or not.

National Parks and a lot of State Parks ban guns entirely.  Most National Forests have few restrictions.
