Yeah, I had a really awesome Tag for a few years... got in a spot and had to part with it.  These things happen, I'll get another one.

Dude I think the two are closely related.

I have owned 3 rolexes and 15 ARs!! Each one getting better every time!

Both bad habits!!

My latest;

I bought my first on deployment at Kristie jewlers in Frankfurt Germany 1980. I remember giving my whole paycheck as a LCPL $625.00.  That watch just appraised at $7300.00. They are like Vintage Corvetts only going up in value.

Lets not say what I paid but I did get 15% off retail

Most people who have nice guns will usually have nice watches.... I guess it is an appreciation of quality or something.

Of course, the Rolex v. Tag Heuer debate is kin to the 1911 v. Glock -or- Colt v. Bushy arguements.

I prefer Tag.

Watches can be beautiful, functional expressions of mechanical poetry.  As can guns.  It is to be expected that an appreciation of one would be related to an appreciation of the other.

As for me, shit, if it tells me the right time, do it in the dark, and refrain from breaking, I'm pretty happy.

You must be shooting Glocks.  As a Sig man I prefer my Omegas.

Does that mean if I have a Hesse, I have to wear a Timex?

If I went into business for myself I'd run a gun and watch store.  I want to buy myself a Breitling Super Ocean for my next birthday.

Which one?  If I don't by the Breitling, I am also thinking of the Aqua Terra or the Speedmaster "Moon" watch.

I have an Omega DeVille Prestige ~$5-6K.

It's not tactical, but have have to wear a 3 peice suit every day at work, so I need non-tactical.

Got a buddy that spent a couple grand on a Romex Rolex.  We give him crap about it... but then, he's not a gun guy, so I can't make the association here.

Personally I wouldn't spend over maybe $100-150 on a watch.  Hell, my favorite watch is a Victorinox V7 Chronostar my buddy got me for Christmas last year for like $120 or something.  I love it.  It does what I need it to, and that's the bottom line.  Keeps time well, and is very accurate.  I synchronized it to the phone system clock here, and it's stayed the same all year.

I have the omega speedmaster chronograph.  In stainless, with the silver face, it's a beauty.

and here is a link to it if that pic does not work

Great watch, had for about 6 yrs now, and not a scratch on the bezel, no problems at all.  Self winding.  Comes in many face colors, and stainless, two-tone, or 18K gold.

I got this cool Rolex from Century Arms for $35.00 and it's just as good as a real Swiss made one.
