putting a simple roof on a small 4'x8' aviary
cannot remember high school geometry and need some help
the bird house is 4' wide want it to have 1' of overhang on each side
if I want the base to be 6' across what length does that make the triangle "legs"
and at what angle

or easier than that can somebody refresh my memory on what the formula is?

It depends on the pitch but a 6' x 10' roof with a 4' rise would have a 16/12 pitch.
For those dimensions the rafters would be 5'.

Google n' shit.

A= run.

B= rise.

C= length of rafter.

A squared + B squared = C squared.

The square root of C is your rafter length.
