The author manages to capitalize the "N" in Viet Nam yet leaves the "M" in Marine lowercase???

...Not sure of your point... So the guy didn't cap the M in Marine...

The story is widely known to be true - there were growing pains when the M16 was first introduced, and men lost their lives because of it.

The powder issue, the lack of cleaning kits... This is readily available material.

I'm in the middle of reading a book about the current Iraq war, and still read about M-16's jamming throughout the battles the author recounts.  

Though to be fair, they had Mk-19's and M-2's jamming as well.
