I know I posted this in the computer forum but I know this will get more visibility here. I'm replacing the dvdrw in an imac g4 800mhz with the 15 inch screen. The dvdrw it came with is a pioneer 104 or 105 I believe. The drive no longer works. Will there be any compatibility issues if I replaced it with a pioneer dvr 109? Or does anyone have a better suggestion? Thanks.

yes, now you'll have to take it out back and shoot it.

Thats how I feel about it as I'm not a Mac user.

Check out this page, I think you will find it somewhat helpful.

At some point the Pioneer DVR-10x line changed depth by like a 1/4". I can't remember if they got bigger or smaller. So make sure you match the length of the one you are removing or at least double check your available space before buying the new drive. It's kind of snug inside those cases. I'll see if I can find anything on Apple's tech site.
