I had me a bottle of that stuff... accidentally threw it out with an old cleaning kit. It works great on surface rust (used it on an old Enfield), and it seemed to work OK for bore cleaning. I like the gel... squirt a little on your brush and work it in the bore. Should probably follow up with some patches from the breech tho. I'd like to find summore of that RB17... M@

I think it's floor cleaner in a different bottle. I tested it a while back. 3 pennies 1 drop each Hoppes #9 CLP Breakfree RB-17 gel The next day Hoppes #9 had turned the penny into green gunk CLP and RB17 were slightly green. Later I did the same test with some 230FMJ's same results

I've used it for a couple years with good results.

RB-17 is pretty good. It is one of mildest amonia cleaners out there. Try Sweet's 7.62 if you really want to get down to business.
