need some quick help..

something broke on my ford F150 ,need to know what its called so i can replace it..

whats this bastard part called. it just broke on me..

good thing it happened in a parking lot and not on the road..

and i know a guy it happened to as well.............also a parking lot.............damn good thing too because that happening at highway speed will fuck your world

Did you happen to be turning the steering wheel while the vehicle was NOT moving?

Looks like the main line to the Flux capacitor. Your screwed if you hit 88miles per hour!

just called auto zone.. about 47 bucks for the part.. not bad.. thanks for the quick ID..

anyone ever change one of these..

Flux Capacitor was the first thing I thought of, I'm amazed with the quick wit on this site, that somebody didn't mention it within the first three posts.

when replacing the tie rod be sure to measure how far out the old one is . sometimes counting the exposed threads works given the replacement tierod is the exact same length as the original. If not your wheel alighnment will be out.

+1. I'd get it as close as I can and get an alignment anyway.

IIRC, that's a recall item for 1997-2003 F-150s and F-250s. Might want to call a Ford dealer to be sure.

Better yet, After you install new tie rod go get an alignment to be on the safe side.

Looks like a TTB style front axle, probably a 80-96 style f-150

Actually what you have circled in the first pic
is called a adjusting sleeve. The part that is broken
is the inner tie rod. It also looks like you should
probably invest in some new tires. The one that
shows in the pic looks like hell.

i got the thing fixed.,.

cost of the part.. 23 bucks

cost of tools that i thought i would need but didnt... $$$$ :(

oh well im home on arfcom watching the history channell so all is well.

only bad thing is that i missed a new series called dallas swat .
