Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - question about ww2 army ribbon

A buddy of mine met someone that had two ribbons from their family's WW2 Army service and doesn't know what they mean. They look like area tour ribbons with a three blade propeller on them ( like Navy machinist mate).

Anyone seen something like this and/or know what it is?

If I can find a pic I will add it. Hoping someone recognizes from the description...
