I'm looking for an institution that won't negotiate our rights as much. The NRA needs a stronger backbone, IMHO.

This is as good as its going to get. Maybe you should join GOA & GOC. They have lots of backbone, but not enough members to even get the politicos to notice. Sorry, but that is the realities of the real world.

Signed up Friday. Gave it to me for $500 ($250 off listed price).

Currently a yearly member of CRPA (California Rifle and Pistol Assoc.) and GOA.

I plan to sign up as a life member with both of them near years end. Even though I'm departing the PRK shortly, I want to stay a member of CRPA since so much bullshit flows out of this place to end up being the model for other states to take away our rights.

I don't have a life membership but I always renew my membership.
Link Posted: 9/12/2004 10:05:08 PM EST
Ummmm......

Oh thats right, I already am a life member......

if all the gunowners of this great nation would join, then we would have an organization that didnt have to compromise.......its about the greater good, and what can and cannot be accomplished within the framework of politics.....

I have all this week off and it's on my list of things to do!! I've been thinking about it for a while now and with all the psycho-babble the anti's have been spouting the past couple of weeks, it's gotten my blood boiling enough to finally do the right thing and sign up!!

I think I will, a couple of paychecks distant.

I will wait till next year on updating my annual membership. The AWB may be gone now, but if it looks like it's gonna stay away then I'll upgrade.

Get the easy pay life set up on one of your credit cards, takes awhile, but it works. If every gun owner actually did something for the cause, we would be KINGS!

I'm going 'Life'.

Already been a life member for 14 years.

Back in the day they had a heck of a sale on life if you were AD military. I was able to fit the payment plan cost in between keeping my car, Ole Bessy, running and buying treasured firearms.

Some of us did that 20 years ago....... see sigline below.

Hoe did you get that deal?
Link Posted: 9/13/2004 6:09:55 AM EST
I did it a few months ago.

You guys that haven't done it yet but want to should check into the NRA's Legacy Point program. It allows you to get a Life membership for about $275. Call NRA membership services and ask them about it. 877-NRA-2000

How do you expect them to continue fighting with no $$$? You do understand that the whole system works on money, knowledge, and power don't you?

BTW "knowledge" doesn't always equate to facts in the political arena.

I'm about halfway through making my life membership payments. I ought to just pay it off.

I am.

I'm signing up for EZ-Pay Life as soon as I get home from work. You can contribute as much as you want, at any time, as I understand it. I figure 25-50 a month and I'll be paid off soon enough without stretching my bank account (30 to 15 months).

Politics is negotiation. As always, I invite you to start your own organization and do it better. Lets see your mission statement and your plan of operation. Please post below.

I've been a Life Member for years, but here is one of the newest/youngest Life Members receiving his credentials on his first birthday (last week):

(Please ignore the disheveled appearance of his tired (post-party) but very proud papa. )

How long after you join until you get your packet in the mail? I joined for 3 years last week, and still have not recieved anything.
Link Posted: 9/15/2004 9:49:25 AM EST
Funny you should ask. I just joined last night. 1 year for now, but we'll see how it goes and if I like it, then I might purchase something a little more long term.
