is there a faq on pre-post ban weapons and the meaning of green yellow taging refered to by some sellers posting descriptions of ar15?

Pre-ban ARs are ones made before the 1994 Assault Weapons ban, they can have collapsible stocks, removable flash suppressors, and bayonet lugs. [}:D]

Post-ban are all the ones made after the ban, they can't have collapsible stocks, removable flash suppressor and no bayonet lug. [:(]

Maybe pre-post ban means a pre ban upper on a post ban lower?  hehe.  Or maybe something made *before* the pre-ban [:)]

Are you referring to the term "Green Label" when you say "green yellow taging"?  If so, you're referring to an AR-15 made by Colt that includes the following features:  flash hider, bayo lug, detachable magazine, pistol grip, and optional collapsible stock.

Aside from what SOG said the Colt green labels are just that. They came in a box with green lettering and were made before the blue labels. The blue labels came in a box with blue lettering. The blue labels are pre ban but Colt chose not to put the bayonet lug on them, also the pins for the trigger group are larger than what has been standard so they will not inter change with other manufacturers parts. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Keep in mind that post ban Colts still come in a blue label box but minus the scary flash suppressor or tele stock.
