This came to me from a work colleague:
Friends,
I returned Saturday from Kansas City to some very sobering news.
My nephew, Lance Corporal Casey Owens, was gravely wounded in combat last
week.
Casey is in Landstuhl Germany, and is to be flown to Bethesda Hospital
(today, we think), and is in near critical condition.
He has over 300 shrapnel wounds, has lost the lower part of one leg, and
his jaw has been repaired with a titanium plate.
His mom and sister were flown to Germany through the incredible generosity
of a Christian family in Houston, and
Congressman Tom DeLay enabled them to get passports in under 4 hours after
application!
This kind of amazing support system is helping the family to cope.
You may follow the updates on Casey's condition, and leave a note in the
guestbook if you like, at:

We ask that you put this hard charging young Marine in your prayers, as
well as a prayer for the safety of all
women and men serving our country.
We may not all agree on the reasons for this conflict, but the dedication
and courage of our troops is beyond question.
Thanks for your prayers.
Sincerely,
Kent
