my buddy at the gun shop just called and told me he will have one of these in tomorrow. if i want it 420.00 out the door. <i wanted to see one when they came in>

KEL-TEC PLR-16

i was thinking this might be a good cheap option to a carbine for my car. Not as evil looking, hicap, rifle caliber and easier to conceal in the vehical than a rifle bag. Also would be a fun gun at the range.

what do you guys think. are they worth it?

i have at the "GOOD PISTOL" covered many times over as well as the GOOD RIFLE

I haven't heard much about them as of yet. But I think I am like you and might just want one. I know of a few guys that have the rifles and they seem to like them just fine. I would imagine the pistol should be of equal quality.

I know this doesn't help with your search for facts, but maybe it helps in the fact that you are not alone in wanting one.

i am thinking this with the muzzell break, forarm and 20rnd mags would be a hell of a get out of the shit gun that would easy to hide in the trunck. plus the polymer frame should fare well with a little routine oiling of the metal parts.

screw terminal ballistics at 20 yards or so that you'd be using this for a under the seat gun.

while yes it will be primarily a vehical gun it is not the only one i carry.

as for ammo.

it would likely be loaded with hornady tap and not milsurp.

same action as the rifle and it seems to be doing well from what i can tell. it also sounds like the barrell is threaded to accept the break or regular flash hiders. of course i have my dobts how effective a flash hider would be. might cut the firball down from 4 feet to 3 feet

well i took the plunge today. did a bit a research on the rifle version and read up on what few reviews are out on this one. Mostly positive stuff.

here she is....

first impressions....

overall seems to be fairly well built for what it is. mags insert and drop free easily and feed freely.

rail on top is plastic and physically part of the reciver. we will see how well it holds up with optics attached.

Trigger is crisp and breaks repeatedly at the same spot each time. Much better than expected

will need a fluff and buff on the frame i have found a few sharp edges that need to be removed.

barrell is threaded and i have installed an m16 flash hider i had lying around. threads do not index properly for them so a shim was used.

balences surprisingly well with 20rn mags. heavy but i have fired heavier pistols.

10rnd mag that is included is plastic and appears to be crap <like it will ever be used>

sights are standard v notch pistol sights on the rear and an ar15 style on front. rear sight is repositional on the top rail.

VERY!!!!! easy to strip and clean. appears that little lubrication is actually needed.

safety and mag release are both easily accesible and usable with trigger finger on right hand.

i will be ordering the forarm cover soon and the sling adapter as soon as it's availble. should be a dang hoot "firing from the hip"

. hopefully i will put some rounds down it tomorrow.
