I'm just a n00b using wikipedia, so correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that date back to 1892, which is a good 100 years after the Constitution?

Did you know that the Pledge was written by an avowed socialist, and the words "under god" were not added until the late 1950's?

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist, and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898). The original "Pledge of Allegiance" was published in the September 8 issue of the popular children's magazine The Youth's Companion as part of the National Public-School Celebration of Columbus Day, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's
arrival in the Americas. The event was conceived and promoted by James
B. Upham, a marketer for the magazine, in a campaign to encourage
patriotism and the display of the American flag in public schools.
Just sayin......

Perhaps it is you who is at odds with the founders.

"Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the Common Law."  -T. Jefferson

"All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."  -T. Paine

The part that pisses me off is that the Pledge is beautiful but was written by a socialist

Nice cherrypickings. Read some detailed writings from the period and it is crystal clear that Christian values were paramount in the shaping of this republic, whether you like it or not.

NOW YOU"VE DONE IT!

You have said God on the internet.

The internet is worldwide and there are peace loving peoples that are offended.
(Of course a lot of them can't read or write, crap in a hole, and don't have the internet) but they are surely offended just
the same.

The MSM tells us so.

You have put our troops in danger.
