found a norinco m1a thats had some work done to it.

usgi fiberglass stock
usgi bolt
versa pod bipod
1 aftermarket 20 rnd mag <supposedly functional>

also inclused bquare mount and tasco scope but i figure those are pretty much junk along with the mag.

asking 650.00 out the door. the dealer knows the owner and claims it's a great shooter <i trust this dealer and his opinions>

what say ye? buy or pass?

Norinco receivers are top notch.

If it's not as tight of a performer as you want, that is the best starting place to throw some money.

What's the barell.

I'd jump on it like stink on poo. I dont think you could get hurt and could always get your $ back out of it.

not sure i am guessing it's the original. didn't see any specific marks.

i will have to add a gi flash hider and i'd like to remove the versa pod plug and put the gas plug/nut back on it. looks to have very little wear.

I paid $900 for an Armscorps, Springy bbl, TRW bolt and trigger group. FWIW

This deal sounds like something I'd jump on.

IIRC the barrels that come on the Norincos are decent and worthy of fine accurate blasting.

The parts that need changing already have been. Nearly everything else is interchangeable except for (I think) 2 minor parts. Check with Different in the M1A forum if you need to. He's hands-down the M1A pro.

The only real downside to the M1A platform is the price of mags. If you don't mind Chinese mags, the T-57s I bought from Midway for $15 apiece were fine.

well i broke down and bought it this morning. couldn't bring myself to let this one go.

here she is, it came with a shitty tasco 4x scope that i promptly removed and replaced temporarily with a spare eotech i had lying around. finish on the gun is perfect. the usgi fiberglass stock will be getting a proper camo job soon.

Well, congrats on your new purchase. When my wife and I graduate and this "hobby" can come full circle once again, an M1A is at the top of my list. (right after Garand, and before AKM)

on that note, any new news about the Anniston storefront opening this spring?
