the box says it's a 5 port usp 2.0.
the comp says it's a 2.0
the software install says it's a 2.0
when i plug in a phone to do a download it pops up a snotty little bubble that says "you can down load faster if you upgrade to a 2.0".

argh. i paid 30.00 for this card so it would be fast.
any idea what the deal is?

are you running windows XP?

if yes: Install service pack sp1a, or sp2

if no: get windows XP or linux

next question?

I would start here...

What's on the other end of your USB connection? You have a PC, plus a 5-port USB hub, but what else is connected to the hub? I'm not clear how you plug in a phone to a USB port to download data. Do you mean you plugged in a USB dial-up modem? If so, check to make sure the modem is USB 2.0. If not, you can expect the to see dialog box you described.

down loading the service pack. thanks.

i got the

PC, plus a 5-port USB hub
then i got a USB cable and a power splice from verizon and that plugs into my LG phone. it charges the phone and let's me dump to it.

What assurance do you have that your LG phone is USB 2.0?

is it usb 2.0 hi speed or full speed?

you might also check to make sure that the USB hub is 2.0 compatible. Some are not.

edit: the original post states the hub is 2.0, belay my last.
