I use only Firefox for surfing the net. But recently IE has started opening several windows at once with ads, popups. I've run AVG, AdAware, Spybot, Mcafee Stinger and trojan remover.
Spybot and AdAware have picked up a few things but even though I clear them out they seem to come back again. I'm just unable to find the source and I don't know where to look or how to fix it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure I picked this up when I tried to download Motorola phone tools from Limewire, that's when I started having problems. I've unistalled Limewire and MPT.

Sounds like a Trojan Horse... take it to a professional and get it wiped. Just save very important things to a removable storage device and start over.

you can days on end on try to fix a virus that won't be detected for weeks.   or format and be backup and running in a couple hours........................ THIS of course if you have backed up YOUR data

I found it a couple of days later-
Several different spyware/ anitvirus programs were finding it but couldn't get rid of it.
AVG spyware took care of the problem.
