Why did you remove the cage for warehouse and truck use, if the rack is still shorter than the top of the part that the forks move up and down on?

Because when unloaded van/trucks and flying crates 30ft in the air, the cage WILL hit the top/roof, not allowing certain things to be unloaded/flown.

Say I'm inside a 40ft Sealand van parked at the dock and there is a pallet stacked up high to where the forks cannot go high enough with the cage on. Freight cannot be unloaded in that case.

That is a small fork lift. Looks like a 6000lb.

2500#

Smallest we use, but it's all I need for my job. I routinly operate 5000, 10,000, and even 80,000 pound lifts every day though.

Much, much too pretty.
Needs some "character marks"/duct tape repairs on the seat & oil/grease smears post haste.

Spinners?

One of the gals out in the warehouse where I work has little flowers & a "Princess" bumper sticker on her truck

No shit?  That's what we do to fix the seats.  The guys here can't lift there ass high enough to get off the seat and end up ripping it all the time.

Many times we wrap the seat in burlap and then duct tape it for good measure.  Hell, we even have an aluminum folding chair as a seat on the old Yale.

Even better idea, we picked up one of our laborers piece of crap car and put it up on blocks which you couldn't really notice. It was the funniest thing I'd seen in a long time.

The "cage" you are talking about is mounted to the fork assembly to prevent load shifting, NOT the operator safety cage, correct?

Where do you work?

I have some time in Skytracks, Gradalls, etc, but my favorite is an old propane Toyota warehouse lift. That thing will go up on two wheels if you ask it to. I love it.

Do they all come that way from the factory?  That's purty...  You need a NOS sticker on that tank.  Maybe talk your boss into getting another two tanks...

I trained/worked on a 14T Mitsu then switched over to a 8T Crown for my second assingment.  All the dunnage guys got the little Komats.  I was rated for propane but never set foot on one.

That'd be the "backrest" then..

We had an old cat that had about 30k hours on it BEFORE the propellant mag caught fire around it. Dumbass coworker ran back inside a mag that was burning (not the structure, but the fucking skids of NAN3 base propellant itself) and retrieved that hunk of shit.

I asked him why he ran back for the lift instead of doing the normal and rational thing when there is a propellant fire (run far away very fast) and he said he didn't want the dept to have to get a new lift...

This was the same idiot that drove an eletric lift off the edge of the dock. Compressed all the disks in his back so bad that he ended up an inch shorter.....

Is that the only forklift at worK.

If there's another one, it's a blast having after work forklift races in the warehouse/yard.

Oh, and be sure you have proper safety training...

Good times bro. I might run into you this summer. Last summer we built the Barnes and Noble and that strip mall. The summer before that, the Fred Meyer.
