I have a 25/25 connection and it's rare that I even get to download at the full 25mb (Which is about 3megabytes per sec download).

Our connection speeds are laughable locally.  I'm getting less than 1Mbps on a good day.  And I pay dearly for it.  At least with cable I don't have DNS dropping out every hour or so like I did with DSL.  So I have up time going for me.  Compared to my fiber connection at work, well, there is no comparison.

My ISP will increase my bandwidth for a premium.  Problem with that is they can't really deliver on their promise so the extra money is pretty much a waste.  They've over sold their network and have no intention of upgrading anything.  And since there is no competition they can get away with it.  I hate Time Warner.

I'd probably get laughed out of town if I tried that with TWC.

On the other hand, my current speed is fast enough for everything I do.

Traditional ISPs need to start speeding things up; if they don't, they'll quickly find that Verizon and AT&T and other wireless carriers have faster internet speeds through the cell networks than over cable/DSL.

seems like they are competing with FIOS so  my 50mb went to 100mb I am a gamer and only stream media , no cable channels so i pay about 80$ a month for it but its worth it.

Yep.  Wired ISPs that aren't cutting-edge and aren't so remote there is no cell coverage are about to get deaded.
