Hello, anyone know where I can get a couple of cases of military issue first strike rations?

EBay really doesn't show anything and what few I have found out there people are asking way too much money for them?

Since this is almighty ARFCOM anybody here help me out give me a good source?

Thanks

I don't believe they're commercially available.

What's your intended purpose? It's not difficult to fabricate your own, but they're mostlyly snack stuff  and not something I'd want for extended use anyway.

I already tried the epicenter they have some of the components but not everything and they don't have the complete meals.

Why would I hate you? Let me guess you probably have 20 cases stuck in your garage right now?

What's in a first strike that isn't in an MRE?  The little pocket sandwiches?

My understanding was it was primarily calorie dense snacks that are readily available in the MRE.

Welp, here we go:  http://www.mreinfo.com/us/fsr/first-strike-ration.html

I like the idea of one large package with a bunch of snacks and foods that don't require cooking, can be eaten in hand out of the package .

Would just like to add some to the food storage.

Some of the components (commercial beef jerky for instance) has a shorter shelf life than traditional MRE components. My answer to the same need was a mix of MRE components and commercial stuff like the kind brand snack bars that can be rotated easily.

I see.  I think you'll get a lot more bang for your buck by putting a munch of MRE snacks into a ziplock bag or vacuum seal bag.

Bridgeford sells the little BBQ beef and various sandwiches. I use them for hunting, but frankly they're mostly bread, and they give me indigestion. And they're about $4 per sandwich. Their chief appeal for me is the fact I can leave them in my pack for a year and they're just as good, or bad, as when I bought them.

All I needs is my tier one first strike rations so I can be one of the cool kids!

So we're do all of those eBay mres , you know the ones that say military issue not for resale on the box just where did this come from?

Could it be some entrepreneurial GIs perhaps selling a few cases online you know the ones that fell off the back of the truck in order to supplement their low government pay?

I lived on some for about a week when I had to stay put for awhile at a client site while paperwork issues (which could and SHOULD have been handled in about 30 seconds prior to my arrival) were resolved.  I've had better, but was thankful for it.

I chew gum, but hated that caffeine-laden version.  Rather bitter.

Sandwiches were alright, but not memorable one way or the other.  Zapplesauce was OK at best.  Also a bit bitter due to the caffeine additive.

They also had some separate large Hooah bars, which were OK.  I liked the peanut butter best, but the peanut butter didn't come with the rations.  They have re-named them Soldier Fuel bars, and they are available on Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/Soldier-Fuel-Energy-Bars-Peanut/dp/B00ADJCU1U/

They were stolen like most of the gear on there. CID isn't going to go after small ticket non serialized items unless it is a large amount and even then it is a consumable item.

There's like five or six guys on YouTube that post pics of reviews of military MRes .

Like the other person said it's considered a consumable.

Hell I can remember as a kid going into army surplus stores with my dad and buying 1960s and 1970s dated C rations

I thought I read somewhere that Uncle Sam's retail outlet.com actually is starting to sell some surplus rations ?

I thought that through DRMO that there were some that were getting out into the marketplace couple of years ago at least that's what I was told by a friend in the surplus business
