We have had a monolithic dome thread going over in survival for a year or so. thread

A couple of us have been looking into their small studio/one bedroom plans as a rental complex.
domeliving.com

20 foot dome price sheet (somewhat outdated but ballpark)

Any contractor/ builders have an opinion on the cost comparisons of this to conventional construction?

(roughly 11k for 312 sq feet dried in other then doors and windows)

It appears the shell is significantly more expensive then standard framing, but it also serves as roofing, siding and most of the interior wall covering.

In the middle of the earth, in the land of the shire, lives a brave little Hobbit that we all admire...

Edit: I've driven by Itally tx.  They have some dome samples on the side of the road, and a starship enterprise sit down diner...

I think the 24' models would do well...especially with college students; as would the 4-plex.

Make it cheap, market to college students who want off campus but don't want to pay more than dorms cost.
