Don't they all fall down?  I figured you'd have to sew them on if you were serious about it.  ETA: or use the much more manly and half assed duct tape

Duluth sells knee pads and makes work pants with knee pad pockets built in, I suppose there are others:

Protip: If the military gives it to it's troops to wear, you probably don't want it. Find something commercial.

I distinctly recall being told by my Drill Sergeant before "nick at night" that we were forbidden from wearing the knee and elbow pads because he didn't want his platoon to look like it was "going to Tony Hawk's underground skate park"

BJ jokes aside, I've worn the issue ones a couple of times on exercises but I found myself reverting to my old (10+ years) BlackHawk Hellstorm pads on the occasions I wore any. They're lighter, lower profile, and the pads have a bit of flex to them versus the issue types. Weren't too terribly expensive either.

I got these off of Amazon and they're pretty good. They're actually Coyote Brown. Pay no attention to the product picture.

The Bijan kneepads with the neoprene strapping are super comfortable, worked pretty good for paintball.

They will move around though, doesn't matter what kind you get, if they go over the pants they will slide eventually.

For paintball now I use volleyball knee pads under the pants, they stay put. For work I use AWP soft pads that you can get at Lowes

Issue knee pads don't stay in place, the Velcro shits out in weeks, and they're heavy and cumbersome instead of light and maneuverable.

Don't get the big padded velcro knee pads.  They're bulky and hot.  You'll see them a lot in coyote brown.

The Alta Industries Altaflex models were what I preferred when required.  The bottom strap is just nylon webbing, top strap flexes with the knee.  The nylon bottom strap holds the pads in place above your calf since it doesn't expand. They're also more breathable.

These hold up pretty well. They stay in place if adjusted properly. Non stretch strap on the bottom catches the calf muscle, keeps it from sliding down anymore.

Used Altas for years and currently have them for work.  They aren't as good as the Arcteryx.

What application do you need these pads for OP?

If it's for something with a lot of running around, like paintball or airsoft, you will want to look at sleeve style pads that go right over the leg and under the pants, or pants with them built right in.

If it's just for work, go to Lowe's or HD and pick out the ones you like the best.

If you have black guy calves then no matter what you choose for over the pants pads, they will fall down regularly. I just kind of deal with it at work and adjust them as needed.

I wear quick on/off Fox Titan knee pads on my motorcycle, they cover the knee and shin. I have never had them spin/ come loose, and I have done 100mph with them on. And they are $20

If you can tolerate what they do with their profits, Harbor has some good alternatives for cheap ones. If you're not using them all day every day, they're fairly durable for what they cost.

If they are for work these are the best I found. Light weight, breath better than any nylon ones I've  tried, they fall down far less than others also. Cheap as fuck too. The built in the pants ones won't hold up for heavy use.

If you get the ones the mil use, they aren't knee pads.

They are shin guards...
