I was browsing packing.org and looking at the shall issue nonresident states because SC doesn't reciprocate with GA and I 've in Savannah which is across the river.  My parents live in AZ and I might get one there when I visit next time.

It occured to me that they must be some way of maximizing the number of states I could CCW, but I am not the genius to figure it out.  Or do I have this whole nonresident CCW thing wrong.

Which configuration of nonresident shall issue CCW permits would I need to get in order to CCW legally in the most number of states.?  Has anyone figured this out yet?  hmm, it might depend on the state one lives in.

I'll keep thinking about it myself. Maybe its time to generate a speadsheet.

Move to florida and get a Florida CCW, imho the most versatile CCW permit around. You can even carry NFA in florida

It is pretty good coverage, but can I live in Savannah GA and get a nonresident CCW there? Will it still be good in the states that have reciprocity with FL?

No reciprocity with SC.

He doesn't have to move--FL issues non-resident permits.

While true, he might like the "no state income tax".

ETA: But if he had a non resident permit, wouldn't that make the permit only valid for Florida?

Just become a LEO. LEO's were granted NATIONWIDE CCW. This law catapulted Cops into a new legal
bizarro world where law abiding citizens and LEO's are subject to different legalities stemming from the 2nd Amendment.

Plenty of folks swore the passing of this elitist legislation which GW gladly signed as a step towards nationwide civilian CCW.

Florida has CWL reciprocity with almost the entire SouthEast US.
I believe there is a reciprocity map on packing.org

I'm too fat and old to LEO . The FL CCW is pretty good, but no reciprocity with SC.  Maybe a combination of AZ and FL will get me pretty far.

Yeah, whatever happenend to the trickle-down to the rest of the civilians?

Weren't the cops supposed to support the rest of us on that?

I knew it was going to take them out of the fight.

Yeah, but consider the shitstorm that even the LEO lobby had to fight just to get theirs through.

You think Ritchie "I AM DA KING OF CHICAWGA" Daley really wants commoners from other states trespassing in his precious fiefdom? He threatened to arrest LEO's even after passage. I'm sure most of the Anti mayors from around the country feel the same way.

FL and I think Utah are your best bets as far as I know.

My recollection is that when it was passed, most folks here spent their time complaining about it and claiming the law should be either repealed or struck down by the courts.

It was an opportunity that few even considered trying to seize.

A nationwide CCW for everyone isn’t simply going to happen on it’s own – yet that seems to be the expectation.
