Duluth Trading Co used to make double thick sweatshirts and hooded sweatshirts. I was going to buy another zip up hoodie but I guess they dont make it any more.

<$100?

I like a fleece with a waterproof hooded jacket over it.

Your temperature range means your underlayering is more important.  Get a waterproof shell.

Carhartt

ETA:  But I'm a fatbody, so it is enough for me in weather down into single digits.  YMMV, though.

Why did you set an artificial and arbitrary floor for price?

There are sub-$100 options for hooded sweatshirts or coats that are perfectly fine for 0-50° weather.

If that's the case, then OP, look at LL Bean's sqall jackets or even their hoodie primaloft - a bit expensive at $90, but it's a good jacket. I think REI is selling out the Adidas Terrex stuff for $60-something.

Or even better? Go to the nearest Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

I just bought one of these for a medium weight jacket. http://www.dickies.com/mens-clothing/mens-outerwear/Sanded-Duck-Hooded-Jacket-TJ230.jsp

The sanded duck is nice and soft and flexible right out of the box. It's the perfect jacket for when it's too cold for a hoodie and too warm form my Carhartt.

I like it so much I am tempted to buy a few more to put away in case they quit making them lol.
