well mrs goto and i have had a flood in the house and need to replace our pergo. we need something under 1.50 sf (for 1100sf of house) that looks nice and is diy friendly to install (we installed the pergo ourselves in '98 when it was old school glue and clamp so we kinda know what we're doing).
any ideas? we're looking at:
we've looked online at diyflooring.com and ifloors.com and internetfloors.com and have seen some great deals...anyone with any experience in this?!?!
I just finished a job using the KronoTex from Lowes.
It was about 2.00 a square foot with materials and all.
(if you pay retail, I paid something like 1.10 with everything)
The finish is good, has a nice look to it.
The install, well - has to be tapped togethor with a pulling bar and hammer (I suggest deadblow)
My shoulder and wrists hurt from tapping.
The Armstrong and Pergos snap togethor, but the fit is fine for this price.
Get the 10 Mil painters plastics instead of the rolls of plastics. It's cheaper in the long run - a little harder to work with, but is the same stuff.
Hope you have a miter saw.
