Anybody over there?  I'll be coming over there in a few months and was wondering if anyone has been or is there right now.  Opinions of the base/local etc.

Don't go shopping downtown alone, especially if you are female and batshit crazy.    I know tons of people that have spent time at manass, any specific questions you have?

I went through there several times when I was working as a contractor in AFG.  The alcohol policy changed with each visit (rationed, none at all, only permanent personel, etc).  

I made it out to Bishkek a few times.  The females are what I'd describe as "exotic". We don't have blood lines like that here in the States.  

Some of the E-nothing AF guys screwed that up for in-transit personel though.  Guess they went to town, got stupid drunk and messed with the local Kryg mob. Then that crazy officer got herself kidnapped.

From what I understand on the alcohol policy is it is rationed a few times a week, and as I will be one of the people serving... ;)

I'll most likely be working in the rec-tent when I get over there.  Sounds like they will let people off base soon, hopefully by the time I get there.  


Also, you guys have any more pics?  As I understand now they have dorms up...not excatly like my last deployment, but hey, a solid building when it's sub-zero, I'm not gonna complain.
