got a new one for the top stupid award....
I live way out in the country, guy down the road from me (3/4 mile) was at home during the day(retired) and noticed someone in his garage. he went outside and the robbers took off on their 4wheelers down the road with the home owner chasing in his pickup. about 3 miles down the road the robbers then take off into a field on foot to lose the home owner.... abandoning their registered 4 wheelers on the road.....along with their kids......... 
will get more info tomorrow from county....but pretty sure they were able to determine the identity of the robbers
