Kick ass. But the aircraft mechanic in me is just thinking of all the corrosion issues from that seawater pouring into the bird.

Cool...but how does it take on the weight of the water, the raft and the additional men without taking the pilot by surprise? How does the aircraft accomodate the varying load without crashing?

It has been posted before, still cool.

Navy Seal training exercise, I believe.

Pilot magic.

I don't know but both videos are great. We have some very skilled pilots and very good machines. BTW was near the Chinook factory a few months ago in Philly (Chester area). Nothing like seeing a brand new Chinook flying down the Delaware River getting put through its paces.

that is fucking awesome!!!!

I have never seen anything like that. Thats one of those things that you wonder, who was dumbass that came up with that idea, yet it ends up working great.

I had this POS LTC come up with the an idea to swim across a river in full battle rattle. He was a dumbass and that ended up being a bad Idea

Chinooks make a lot of power, the weight of that boat and the guys in it isn't nearly enough to bother it. The pilots are expecting them also.

Thanks for adding the other awesome vid/pics.

Our military never ceases to amaze me.

Wheres the one where they have to make a support for it while its hovering because its landing gear fell off? That was a pretty good one as well...

Makes you feel small compared to brave men who consider that kind of stuff "just another day", doesn't it? It sure makes me feel that way.

Here's to the American soldiers wherever they find themselves safeguarding me and my family today!
