How do you know it has a cracked motherboard? How the heck did that happen without also destroying the glass on front?
It probably can't be fixed. It's probably not a warranty fix either. You might be able to pop one in from a used one, but if you find a used one with a working motherboard you are better off fixing THAT with parts from the one your son broke.

I may have one for you. I wanted to install the Netflix app but I was on 3.1.2 and it needed 3.1.3. So I started the upgrade and the thing bricked. Its stuck in recovery mode but it's failed to restore twice.
