So, another thread inspired me to ask. Sometimes whenI close my eye to go to sleep I get bright flashes of light. Its almost like someone turns on the lights. A matter of fact, I thought someone did turn on the lights the first time it happened. The flash lasts about a half a second and may happen 2 or 3 times...then I usually fall asleep.

Weird huh

Symptoms of retinal problems, go see an eye doctor and get your eyes checked ;It's a better safe than sorry situation .

It is much better to catch a detached retina etc before it shows up in your field of vision.

I started having those when I was in my early 40's.  I was told that it's normal just like floaters.  Mine haven't gotten much worse since then.z

You're going to end up with a detached retina and will go blind.

Have fun.
