put my new scope on my M1A tonight, the Smith Enterprise scope mount suggests torquing the nut to 55-65 INCH POUNDS

well, i dont have an inch pounds torque wrench....

does anyone know the conversion to foot pounds?

 Divide by 12.  it would be 4½ - 5.4 ft/lbs

uhhh, theres 12 inches in a foot, simple division tells me 60inch pounds equals 5 foot pounds which most foot pound torqe wrenchs wont read..

And odds are your foot pounds torque wrench doesn't go that low!!




I went to go look.  You're right  The lowest one I have is 10-150 ft/lb.  I do have a 0-250 in/lb though.
