Hey guys,
This reminds me of a story. We were staying in my camper out in the middle of the woods, doing some deer hunting. My buddy wanted to purchase some spray paint to paint a deer stand. So we went into town and stopped at the local Pamida, a Kfart type store. We were carded. We were 17 at the time, they would not sell us freaking spray paint! WTF? You have to be 18 to buy freaking camo spray paint? We had some other items that we left at the register and left.

I am 20 now, and the funny thing is. I was at a bar on Sunday night, and never get carded. [;D]

Funny how those things work.

I think it's incredibly stupid that there is any age limit on anything.  Perhaps at certain ages and with with certain items a parent should sign a paper before the kid can have the item, but above an age somewhere between 16 and 18, I think anyone should be able to buy anything.  After all, 18-year-olds are old enough to die for their country.  They certainly should be old enough to buy a handgun or alcohol.

And it kind of makes me angry that I can buy an AR-15, but I can't buy a handgun.  I guess people between the ages of 18 and 21 can't be trusted, so you have to make sure the person has a large gun so he can't hide it well, but once you turn 21, you're suddenly a good person who can be trusted not to use a gun in a crime.

And how come you have to be 18 to get things like magazines?  They're harmless by themselves.  You need a GUN to use them, and you've already proven you're 18 by purchasing that gun.

Or take alcohol.  If a parent is with a kid at home, that kid is allowed to drink alcohol.  But if a parent is with a kid at a resturaunt, the kid is not allowed to drink alcohol.

I hate those anal orifices that make laws.

Thank goodness I'm going to turn 21 somewhat soon, at which time I won't have to worry about the laws.  Once that day comes I'm buying a handgun and getting a tequila.

Funny thing happened to me too.  I'm only 20 and was at the local beer store and the shop keeper asked me for ID to purchase 2 cases of beer.  He looked it over for (I shit you not) 2 minutes, handed it back to me and took my money.  I guess math isn't a popular subject in the middle east.

Once at some resturaunt (I think it was Olive Garden), I was with my parents and my older brother, and the waiter, without checking my ID, just gave me a wine glass along with my older brother and parents.  So I got to have wine at a resturaunt at 19!  Strangely, most people say I look 16.  I guess this guy wasn't paying attention.

so i am up here in NYC working whats left of my ass off this week. Yesterday i stopped in a kmart on long island to buy a screwdriver. The cashier carded me?! WTF i say. She informs me kmart will not sell tools to anyone under 18 and i must show proper id to buy a freaking screwdriver!
WTF is up with this state. At first i thought she was nuts but there it was on the register screen. A prompt for ID on a tool sale. Have these people lost their minds or is this some strange New York law?

Greenhorn, the same thing happened to me a few months ago at olive garden.  The waiter just poured me a huge glass of wine and refills.  I'm glad my parents are "cool"

I know what you mean!  I've been blessed with a receeding hairline, and though I'm only 27, most people I ask think I'm in my 30's!  That sucks!!  [:(]
