was wondering how many pistols and rifles do you guys purchase per month or on a regular basis
Link Posted: 8/9/2005 11:12:43 PM EDT
Monthly.... wow... you own way more guns than I do I bet
Link Posted: 8/9/2005 11:14:25 PM EDT
i purchase them on a budget allow basis
Link Posted: 8/9/2005 11:19:59 PM EDT
In the last year I've bought 3 guns..so that makes 1/4 of a gun per month.
Link Posted: 8/9/2005 11:20:53 PM EDT
I bet most of us don't acquire even 1 a month.
Link Posted: 8/9/2005 11:22:16 PM EDT
I generaly purchase between zero and one firearm a month.
Most months it is zero, some months one.

I generally tend to buy what I want when the fancy strikes me regardless of the timing or budget. I only own 29 guns. I realize that there are many people who have more but I am happy with what I have until I run accross something else I want.

When I run accross it, I'll buy it.

I'm 19 now, and started buying guns when I turned 18. I've bought 4 and had 3 handed down to me. Once I get a job, I figure I'll start buying a lot more.

I've bought as many as three in the same purchase didnt know that part of that awb brady bill also required the purchase of more than one gun at a time required the dealer to report the sale to the state police but I never heard anything about it

*edited to correct it wasnt the awb it was the brady bill update they did later

I've had nothing handed down to me. Even my (cold) grandfather refused to let me buy any of his many beautiful, well-preserved rifles and shotguns. Bastard gave them all away.

It's my mother's side of tha family that hate my father and thusly hate his offspring. My father's side is less financially secure but is the opposite in that respect.

Per month? Too rich for my blood.

I'm averaging 2 a month, must stop the addiction

I didn't vote. I own just about everything I've ever wanted so I have slowed down quite a bit lately. I'm to the point that one a year, around tax return time, gets me by.
Link Posted: 8/10/2005 12:02:08 AM EDT
I think I'm at around 3 a year. Saving up for a safe right now, so it'll probably be just two, one of which I gave away.

That aplies to handguns...but it's not like we can go out and get any cool rifles either.
Link Posted: 8/10/2005 12:26:23 AM EDT
Since the ban ended I have bought 22 rifles and 3 handguns.

By Budget of course ..

Sometimes it's 10 and sometimes its zero .
Last month it was 2 , but I only count it as
one because I also sold a gun .

This month , who knows . I'm really at the point
where I pretty much own everything I can
legally have in NY , except a .50 but that was
never was high on my list to begin with .

Of course I did mention to one of the shop
owners I see on a weekly basis , that I would
like to get a look at the S&W X frame in .460 .
So I have no doubt that he will taunt me with
one in the near future

the .500 S&W X frame I see at works keeps whispering to me, but I wonder what the hell I'm goona do with it.
Also lusting a 50BMG but there's nothing I can shoot around here, legally

I only buy a couple per year. I can't afford any more often than that.

None of your business,

I get what I want, when I want. I don't live by a quota. Just bought a Ruger MK II.

I basically quit buying a few months ago - a self-imposed spending moratorium.

But about one per month net (i.e, not sold or traded away) on average over the past 20 years. (Thus the moratorium...)

I answered "A."

mode on

....I would say that "trading in" one gun to buy doesn't count....

"....(s)he who has the most toys wins....." who ever said that...

mode off

As many as budget will allow, as a hedge against Corzine becoming governor and making things harder here in NJ.

Accessories I can get later, so right now it is about trying to get in my ownership any firearms that I might possibly want to own in the forseeable future while I live in NJ.

And looking for property elsewhere to have a place to hold anything that suddenly gets banned in NJ.

My habit hasn't progressed that far yet. I've only got four firearms (uppers don't count - I tell my wife they're "accessories" )
