not 20 years ago
right now. how many can you crank out before you fall on your nose? |
I've never gone past 50. I am sure I could but whats the point? If I need a huge workout I do bench. If I want to do pushups I do sets of 50.
is that one set of 50 and rest for (how many) minutes and repeat or
how many sets in a day? |
I do 3 sets of 100 every night (they are a little "short" but i do them on my knuckles)
I can do around 200-250 in sets of 50.
54-100 second strings of 50 depending on tiredness. |
Stop trying to change the subject and let everyone get back to bashing your for your "bogus" thread!
Holy shit! I knew a few guys in that range, but that is pretty good! |
Mine is 12 1/2 inches.........................Oh wait, what was the ? again.
That was during our last SWAT tryout and I wasnt even in the top 10 out of the 112 that tried out. |
maybe 3 or 4 if I tried....
I'm working on it tho.... working out twice a week, doing some weights... I need to do more aerobic stuff... get a little slimmed down and then bulk up a little bit. |
25 the first set,
20 the next (about five minutes rest after the first set), 15-17 each set after that, followed by two days of soreness. I just tried it a couple of days ago just to see what I could do. I'm sure I could do better if I did them every day, but I only do them once or twice a year. I'm a disgusting fatbody! BTW, I might not be able to do many pushups, but I don't cheat. I do them slowly, stay straight, go all the way down to the floor, and pay attention to form. |
Right now, 55. Before the holidays, 75. When I was younger, 100. I'll get back to the 75 before summer.
Notice i didn't say how many i could do Not that guys like you would believe me anyway |

About the same for me-mid to low 80's before I bend my back or touch a knee. |
On an APFT, I knock out my 77 and stop. I usually do that in under a minute. I could go on, but not much point because I already maxed.
Who was grading you? IOW, what kind of unit are you in? |
My sleeve length is 37 and my chest size is 45"--not condusive to lots of pushups.
I can do about 75 anyway. |
i would love to see those pushups... sorry, but most people who grade PT tests let soooo much bullshit pass. go to RIP/SFAS and see how many those graders count...probably half that number. |
Most guys who brag about how many pushups they can do usually poop out after about 25-30 reps when put on the spot to prove it. And they usually do "fish ups" where they bend their body and don't go all the way down to the floor with their chest.
I'm betting I could do 10 "good" ones. 8 years ago? 80-100.
I need to get to the gym. |
Honestly, I've never even tried more than 20 in a set. I've started doing a quick 20 every time I come back to my office from getting coffee. In a couple of weeks, I'm going to set my computer to an hourly alarm to do 20 on the hour, every hour.
I never do pushups at home because my goddam 100-lb four-legged yellow idiot thinks I'm an amusement park ride. Jackass. At least he's not trying to hump me - yet. |
Ok, back in 86-88 I could crank out about 120 in 2 minutes but now I think I could do about 50 if I just ignored the pain.
On the other hand I can still run pretty good. |
Yeah, that's true. A few years ago one guy was bragging that he could do 100. A couple of guys including me bet with him. He bet 25 dollars for each of us. He lost lol. He did about 45-55 good ones. After that he started bending and resting 3-5 seconds after each push up. Somehow he managed to get to 80 in probably 5 minutes. And he was RED. Lmao. After that he told us that he would never ever brag about how many push ups he could do. Anyway it was pretty funny watching him struggle. |

The internet needs more honest people like you! There's no reason to brag, especially since nobody knows who you are anyway. |
40-50 good pushups. Been busy lifting weights instead lately.
I usually do 125 in 60 seconds then rest 10 minutes and do it again, but I dont go all the way and touch my chest on the ground, I breath in as I go down and breath out as I push up very rapidly.
I never do much more than 150 without stopping because it starts to feel like Im over working my muscles. I prefer to do sets rather than max out and do them all at once. |
I am going to call bs, maybe I am crazy but your saying you can do 1.5 push ups per second for 60 seconds straight non stop. Cany ou run the mile in the high 3's? as well? |
