just like the title says. lets see who's been shooting the longest. start from the very first time you shot a gun of anytype, excluding popguns, airguns, those cool guns that shoot a cork, and all other non-cordite using weapons (for all you smart asses ) me i've been shooting for 1 year now and i've still got alot of practicing to do

I was born in 1948 and at age 6, in 1954, my Dad let me shoot his Remington Speedmaster .22 rifle.

That looks like 52 years to me.

And I have never tired of it.

Is that poll the number of years you've been shooting or the age you were when you started?

If it's number of years, then 25+++

If it's age, then I'd fall somewhere between 1-3

More than 40 less than 45 years.

You really should have more choices beyond 25 years.  Some of us are Old Farts.  I'm not---

Got my first BB gun when I turned 2 years old ( my dad was excited to get me started shooting, I doubt if I actually started shooting that young though ). I remember my first "Kill" while hunting I was 8 years old and used a .410. (Im 19 yrs old now).

So I'd say I've been shooting guns for around 11-12 years. The more weapons I buy and the more I shoot, the more I like it .

Actually, I'm only holding it until my grandson, Jace, is old enough to shoot it.  It's now his.

I think I was about six when my dad let me shoot his Ruger MkII at a dump in the Pocono Mts.  I really count my days shooting from my days in high school shooting a .22 in the rifle range at school.

I can't believe that all kids don't learn to shoot in high school.  It was completely safe, nobody ever got hurt on the range in 50+ years, never a single accident.  Adults were present and discipline was enforced.  How hard is it?

So, I can stretch my answer and say 25+, but just to be safe I'll go with 20 years.  I can't believe how the time flew.

Well I'm sure not going to try to make myself sound more experience than I am.  I shot my dad's 22 rifle a few times when I was 10, but I'm not going to count that.  Sooooo, I guess I'll say just since I registered my first pistol of my own about 8 years ago... but even with that, I didn't really get interested, take classes and REALLY try to learn about them until the last couple years or so.
