this isn't even for a pistol, this is just .22 LR for a rifle.... why is it 18 in person but 21 online? makes no sense to me.

Just policy for that retailer.. Ammuntionstore.com only requires you to be 18 for rifle, as well as centuryarms.com Can order ammo from cheaperthandirt.com, sportsmansguide.com and midwayusa.com if you're 18 as well.

to purchase "thunderbolt" .22 LR ammo at sportsmans guide, i have to be 18: link

but to purchase Sellier & Bellot .22 LR ammo, i have to be 21: link

i don't think they even know what their own policy is

Yeah I think they randomly put the 21 on some things, you should be able to order ok, they dont require ID for ammo sales, I've ordered from them a few times before.
