A friend of mine had some hardwood flooring installed. The short story is that now his sink tower thingy doesn't fit under the sink bowl anymore. It seems like the only option is to grind down the tower some way. He tried that but says it will take forever. Anyone have any ideas? I suggested cutting the wood floor, but for some reason, that's not an option.

Here's a pic to show what he's got...

get a longer drain, water hoses and raise it. he might crack the pedestal by grinding on it.

looks like its only low by an inch.

Raise the sink?
There is most likely a hanger mounted to the wall that the sink is "hung" on. That would be the best option. I don't think grinding porcelan (sp?) is recommended. It is fired to give it a non porous finish. Once you are thru that, it is actually rather porous, and over time will absorb water from the humidity/spilt water, expand, crack, crunble and fail.

should be very easy to raise the sink, do not grind the pedastal!
