im getting a new male german shorthair and im looking for ideas for a name . if you can think of somthing to go with it, my dog i have now is named smoke but im not sure i want to do that unless you really think of a good one. i know you guys will have fun with this and thats cool but im looking for real also. tanx tim

i dont like one syllable names for a dog that is really trained. all comand words,ie. come,whoa,fetch are one syllable and by having a 2 syllable name there is no confusion.
p.s.  smoke was allready named and a year old when i got him so i didnt change it.

Just name him Buddy. It is the best name for dogs because you automatically wind up calling them Buddy all of the time anyway. Post pics when you get your pup. GSP's are awesome dogs. Here is my 15 month old Black Lab named Buddy. He is nuts.
