after reading all these creepy threads, they reminded me of this book i
read. i've tried google to help me find it but it didn't work. maybe
someone here read it.





it's about a brother and a sister who move to a new house and find
underground tunnels in the woods in their back yard. there are these
creatures living in the tunnels. the queen dies and the next one to take
its place is blind and can't take control unless she can see. so the
brother lets the "medic" creature take out his eye and surgically
implant it in the creature.





thats the short version. here's the long version as i remember it.





the family moves to this new house. while the parents are moving shit
the brother and sister go play in the woods. they find a stump and it
opens. they climb inside and almost get killed by punji spikes. they
walk through these tunnels and find this blind creature. they get
introduced to the rest of the clan.





there is a big controversy because a construction worker gets brutally
murdered and no one knows if it was this creature clan or some enemy
creatures.  the queen dies and the next one to take its place is blind
and can't
take control unless she can see. so the brother lets the "medic"
creature take out his eye and surgically implant it in the creature.
afterwards the kid tells his mom that he was attacked by a hawk or some
shit.





this has really been bugging me for the past couple years because when i
read it, it was fucking badass. any help is appreciated. maybe
somebody's google fu is better than mine.
