Company comander pulled me out of formation this morning and congratulated me on my hard work. pinned on my e3. Got my e2 on nov 5 so I guess someone is seeing that I am giving my all. then my section went to work on me....again my collar is still bruised from my last pin. damn.

only ones i got hammered on was my air assualt AFTER i got back <we didn't do it that way at the school, and my e-4.

I think it had alot to do with my pt score but others might have helped too. I qualed expert on the 240 after just getting a familiarization in basic. I won't be able to get eib anytime soon. our training schedual is pretty muched stocked up. NTC in feb means we gotta get alot more done before we go. Im told that I will have a chance to hit air assault before we go. things look pretty decent from my perspective right now.

Congratulations, Private. Hard work pays off when you have good NCOs watching over you.

I recall getting funny looks from other joes on Bragg when I would walk around with my Jump Wings & an EIB with no rank. I didn't get my E2 until I had 7 months in (earned my EIB at 5 months in & E2 orders were delayed while my unit was in JOTC). But I only wore skeeter wings for a month.

just an FYI: E4 sucks to get pinned with since it has such a big surface area to pound on.

but the pay and rank is so nice to have

theres just really no way I can get my eib or stuff like that at this time. I can probably do most things needed and get er done but there just isn't a chance. got to basic on april 26 of this year. the sad thing is there are still some overweight retards with the same rank because they suckered there buddies into joining or had time to sit around in the dep station. I left for basic 10 days after signing my contract. they needed me right away so I left right away.

FYI... we had a soup sandwich in my unit that ETS'd as an E-2. Never made it above that grade. He had sew on E-2 rank.

I always thought it was 18 months for e4. but then again it was supposed to be a year for e3 too? not to mention time in rank.

I had sew on e2's as well. in our airborne unit you aren't allowed to wear pin on. every thing was sewn up just over a month ago....gets a little spendy.

When I was promoted to E-5. at the same time my PLT SGT was pinned E-7 and my section SGT was pinned E-6.

I am about to hit 64 months in the army and I have yet to see the E-6 board.

But I will go to one in Feb 06

one of my good buddies just got pinned for his spc just after I did. he was a good guy but seems like it took him a while to hit it. another pt stud I guess. also our gunner. (11c)
