so unless you're a dirty fucking commie, go get yourself a man's rifle.  or if you already have one, go get her a friend

depends on what you want.  for a piece of history i'd get a field grade winchester, for a shooter i'd get a service grade (may be in new wood, with a new barrel, reparked)

Question.  Do the adjustable gas screws for these things actually work?  The only place I have found ammo for my garands is CMP and I've run out.  I don't shoot them often, but it would be nice to be able to impulse-buy some commercial 30.06 at my LGS and shoot it.  But that only is feasable if those adjustable gas screws actually work.

So do they?

My gun money is spent but this seems to be too good of a deal to pass up.

The CMP is running out of complete rifles to sell.  They have about 1-2 years worth of inventory left.
They have a ton of parts and is one reason they have started offering classes to assemble your own.
There are still a few (very few) countries that have lend-lease rifles (from what I've been told), but nothing in great quantity and no idea when they will be returned to the US.

I've been telling friends for that past few years that they better get on now if they want one at a 'reasonable' price.  Most folks don't listen until it is too late.

I would think the Philipino and Korean rifles would help that continue though.

(If the Korean ones don't glow in the dark.)

Nah, e-store is for ammo, accessories, etc. not guns.  You have to do an order form and meet eligibility requirements to order.

You guys po-poohing the ordering process, yes its tedious but you are getting the rifle shipped to your door and don't have to pay a transfer fee.  On the other hand, the best way to get one is to go to the North or South store and pick one out but then you'll have to pay sales tax.

Yes, needs to be notarized if you have not ordered from them before in the last 3 years (and therefore already have a notarized application already on file).

See page 6 of the non-fillable order form:
