good morning gentlemen, it seems we have multiple situations coming to a boiling point.

N. Korea: 'Sanctions mean a war'

The International Atomic Energy Agency on Monday gave North Korea "one more chance" to readmit weapons inspectors before referring the matter to the U.N. Security Council.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- More than 25,000 soldiers and Marines are heading to the Persian Gulf region this week, and nearly 50,000 National Guard and reserve troops are likely to join them there by February 15 as the U.S. buildup for a potential war with Iraq continues, Pentagon sources said Monday.

We're not going to do anything with North Korea.  That will blow over easily, diplomatically.

yea, we will probably just let them keep building nukes as they already have two.

The public never remembers, but those of us who were the "Tip of The Spear" in Korea, Okinawa, and even Hawaii, do.

Every February throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's, the Military was always concerned that N.Korea (Economically depleted after another hungry winter) would invade across the frozen rice-paddies of Late Winter, so that any counter attack would be through the muddy bos of early Spring.

The scenario that we were briefed on in 1993 was that they might:

1) Push across, and hold Seoul hostage.

2) Develope, OR EVEN JUST PRETEND to have a Nuke, and hold the region hostage.

None of this is new.  The media and the Democrats just pretend that it is new.

There won't be any war in N. Korea over sanctions. Russia has already offered assistance to help with a diplomatic end and the UN is already telling Pyongyang they'd better comply.

Two nukes isn't enough to take on the world.

Iraq is inevitable. Even though the UN is now saying there is no evidence of WMD, we mustn't forget the focus in the White House isn't terrorism or even Saddaam. It's the vast, untapped oil reserves in the Caspian Sea.

You know, you may be right...I mean, what OTHER time in history have there been wars and rumors of wars?
Ohhh yeah, that's right...that would be nearly ALL of history.

If the USA can't take on more than 1 measly country at a time, then what makes us a superpower?

Our military ought to be strong enough to wage a 2 front war.  You could hardly consider Iraq to even be a single front.  Back in 1942, the a single front was expected to last several years.

In my opinion, our military is strong enough to wipe Iraq from the face of the earth in a couple weeks and North Korea in a year.  Why is everyone so impatient for results?
