So whats the consensus on these.
I want to set up a trust for quick efile form 1s. I allready have two suppressors via personal form 4s How would this be better than doing my own by following the info in the general class 3 section Oh yes in before the 'go to the lawyer $$$' crowd. |
|
Great deal. I was in on the last one. Waiting on a stamp for an SBR right now.
|
|
Couple of years ago this would have been a fantastic deal.
But from what I read the ATF is changing the rules so that even on a trust you will need to do the same things as if you were an individual. Getting the CLEO signature being the most prominent change. If that is not the case and I am in error ...... I apologize for the mistake. |

Even if it did go through, there are other reasons to have a trust rather than just getting around tax stamp application requirements. |

How legitimate is 199trust? Anybody have a form kicked back as a result of the trust they write up? Do they write it to coincide with the laws of each particular state or is it it kind of a blanket NFA trust?
Really considering getting one if they are legit. |

I am looking through these two threads...
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_20/435444_NFA__Trust.html and http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_17/434977_Best_place_for_a_Trust_for_NFA_Items_.html Not a real clear cut answer either way with regards to these types of trusts in general... |

These online gun trust sites work? I mean, they are considered technically acceptable by the ATF? Seems awfully easy to me.
|
|
Damn, placed my order at 8:00PM and got my paperwork emailed to me at 10:00PM...on Thanksgiving . I'm planing on a few more SBR's and getting into suppresors

I know some rules are changing regarding NFA and trusts, so my question is, would it benefit me to go ahead and set up a trust even though I have no immediate plans to purchase any NFA items? Is that even possible?
|
|
Thanks for the heads up. I missed the boat on the last one but got it this time.
Now I'm just debating if I should set it up for my current county of residence since I'll probably be moving next year. |

So what's the deal. Is that law or whatever for sure going through?
Every time I see something about it, it just gets pushed back a few months. |

I'm guessing none of the stamp gurus knows for sure yet. |

Do you guys that have 199trust generated trusts have this ?
Page 13 para 6: Manner in which title should be taken: The full name of the trust which shall be used for purposes of transferring assets in to the Trust, holding title of assets. and conducting business for and on behalf of the trust is: "ABC Trustr, by First Name Middile Name Last Name, Settlor" WTF? And does that mean the whole thing including my name has to be engraved on the lower for an SBR. I named my trust my initials " ABC Trust" why is that not the full name? Anybody have any idea. |

Yes, did mine today, have same thing. I *think* the name "ABC Trust" is sufficient for engraving purposes. Just got an email from the owner of 199trust, he said the same thing. However the ATF says the full legal name of the trust must be engraved. So I am confused. |
