we used to slip pop top cans of stew in our campfires, when i was a boyscout. place can, then slip away, await can exploding, and covering people in broiling hot stew..

.......not sure about the numbness thing..

Beer or soda cans are usually entertaining, so are handfuls of assorted fireworks.
