Easy question, if you had 60k what would you buy with it?

I would buy phyical gold. Then I would look for the correct piece of property.

It might take a year to research, to learn how to buy land and what to look for.

I would also buy some digging equipment.

Ferrari 355

My house. That's what we owe on it.

I'd buy land.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:13:27 PM EST
Two cheap hookers and an epic shitload of blow.

Pay off car, student loans and CC. Buy Lexus IS350 and then put the rest in the bank.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:14:30 PM EST
That would absolve me of debt.

Then I would spend the remainder on house, getting it finished and my garage built.

hookers a blow? It's up there on my list.

A machine gun? Yup... that's a good one.

I'd say a machine gun, ammo, and then hookers and blow with what's left.

hookers and blow.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:15:47 PM EST
I would get a pimped out AR, a new truck, pay bills, and put any of the left over in the bank.

I'd buy an acre in the Texas Hill Country.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:16:41 PM EST
Rural property with some sort of natural water.

/thread.

Pay off any debt and make a down payment on a house. I'd stick 20k in a savings account in case of unemployment.

Pay off the remaining $33,600 in alimony. New car, and or motorcycle with rest.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:18:26 PM EST
I'd save it for "rainy day unemployed due to economy" days
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:18:51 PM EST
HOOKERS AND BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry. got excited
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:19:36 PM EST
Pay off the little bit of student loans I have, then pay for the rest of my school. Then I would save/live off the rest until I find a job. Then once the paychecks start rolling in, I'd get a new gun or three and a shit load of ammo. Also cans.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:20:27 PM EST
house, that would be a hell of a downpayment
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:20:40 PM EST
I'd pay off the 25k in student loans between my wife and I, which is the last non-mortgage debt we have and invest the rest in something non stock market related. Probably silver, brass, and lead.

Better spend it all on the necessities before it becomes worthless.

I'd buy a motherload of TP, reloading supplies, food and water.

Shelby GT500. Next question.

If I had 60K, I would put 25K on my mortgage here, and 25K for a down payment on a house in Alaska. The last 10K I would use to finish the things I want to do to my guns, and buy some ammo and long term storage food items.

ETA: My parents neighbor who has asked me out a couple of times, just got a check for 500K last week. My parents are asking me if she looks any more attractive now. I told them nope.

This is rather tempting.

I would probably buy a Mitsubishi Evo X MR and bank the other $20k.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:24:02 PM EST
College and a used BMW M3.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:24:56 PM EST
I would spend it all on Iphone apps.

You'll hate yourself tomorrow.

I'd pad the bank account a little more.

Chevy Suburban and oil futures.

$15k of ammo for MK18 and Sig.

$10k of training to use above mentioned MK18, Sig, tactical gear and NV equipment.

Down payment on a house and land in PA.

I don't know why everyone is responding with "land." Even properly leveraged, 60k is not going to buy much.

The only way I would try to become a land baron is if I had 10's of millions to spend, thousands of contiguous acres at a time.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:27:54 PM EST
Pay for the rest of my edumacation and put the rest in low risk investments.

I wouldn't be buying land for investment purposes. I'd be buying it simply to get the hell out of NJ

A piece of land that is just far enough out of town, but close enough to reach 1/2 hour from home.

It also has 1000 yards of property behind it that I could quite easily build a private shooting range on, and not worry about. It backs on to the St johns river basin, so my buddies and myself could shoot, hunt, play with our airboats, camp, shoot, hunt.......

Deer...hogs..turkey...gators.

Got my eye on it, just don't have the 60K to seal the deal.

the biggest thing of beef jerkey i could find
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:32:12 PM EST
20k into high dividend stocks
20k into laddered CDs
15k into high risk/high return
5k into fun money

WRX STi + insurance and the rest goes in the bank.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:32:49 PM EST
Save it for grad school. Maybe pick up one of those government surplus trucks for hunting. I might buy an AR or two.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:32:58 PM EST
Property or silver.
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:33:58 PM EST
Transferrable mp5, shitload of mre's, ammo and a water purification system
Link Posted: 11/2/2009 4:35:40 PM EST
I'd just hand it to the little woman and tell her to do whatever the Hell she does with it. Life's too short to worry about crap like that.

(snip) .

Because even a paltry 60k will buy you enough land to get people far enough away that they aren't up your ass and down your throat 24hours a day?
