are you referring to my FN FAL? if so very safe, headspaced perfect, most parts in G1 kit were like new(except the 7 US parts, which are new), if your not referring to my FAL please advise. they are not a difficult rifle to build.

you've got to be kidding. i've seen the parts an FAL has, and the AR looks much more elementary to me. colt

ive never seen the internals of an AR. maybe what i was told isnt true and the FAL is a harder rifle to build? have you ever built an AR coltcarbine? the hardest thing about the FN is headspacing and even that is simple with the right tools.

Seems you were a little challenged as per your your post at the fal site.. you need to keep an eye on those extractor plunger's.. no pun intended [;)] I see your relatively new at another gun board [:)] ------------------------------------------------ Topic: just my luck!!!!! totenweine Member FALaholic # 7106 October 10, 2002 00:21 Post #1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well i headspaced my G1 build last night. headspace was perfect with the locking shoulder i got with the kit. closed with the faintest of pressure on the go gauge, and didnt close at all on the no go. i built the bubba extractor removal tool to do so. worked good taking it out, but had a bit of trouble putting it back in. had the extractor plunger pulled back with the bubba tool, was putting the extractor back when the tool failed and the plunger almost took out my eye. it missed by a half an inch!!! man does that spring pack some force!!! i recovered the spring, but of course the plunger is lost to the fal gods. so now i have to order an extractor plunger!!! and wait !!!! shit!!!! i refuse to spend 25 dollars on one of those fancy extracter removal tools to do the job right so maybe ill order 3 plungers . if all the media was killed tonight there would be news from hell by 9am.
