I am at home with the shitty flu and only dayquil. I found some Tylenol night flu, but it expired in 98. Safe just not as effective, or dangerous? Thought this was the most appropriate forum to ask on the web.

I have no idea.
I have 45 Vicodin tablets left over from when I had a herniated C5/C6. I only took 5 pills and didn't use the rest because I didn't want to "get hooked", they expired in 01 but I have them in my camp medical kit - what's the worst that can happen.... |

Last guy I know that tried medicine that was expired dropped dead a few hours later. Just sayin'.

My dad and brother are both gastros.
My brother was saying something like 5% loss in efficacy for every 5 years out of date, on the more common stuff like OTC meds. Some antibiotics can be problematic after the expiry date, however. Chris |

From what I understand,, the experation date is basically the last date that the meds are fully effective... Safe, probably.. Fully effective? nah.. |

My doctor pretty much told me I was an idiot for throwing my old prescriptions away. He said if they were stored correctly, they should be good.
