so what will happen if i pull the projo out of a tracer and touch the back of it with a propane torch?
explosion? small fire? big fire? can i do it indoors? lots of smoke? nothing at all?

Been there, done that.

Not much more exciting than a 3 second road flare.

No risk of explosion. (assuming you punch a hole in the foil first, and ignite the composition)

Also, be aware that the smoke can be toxic.

Red compositions have strontium.
Green compositions have barium.
(barium is a heavy metal)

You'll get a small snap sound and a short flare. Have it clamped into a vise or it'll jump around on ya. Not that I've done this or anything.....
